O.T., No. 1-156 1997-2021
Sinje Dillenkofer’s photographic sequences and series analyse and reveal social structures, values and images of nature. Her series O.T., No. 1-156 – subtitled Hair, from the hair of the beast to the hair on the chin – shows 156 hare snouts in very close focus. The series is generally exhibited in grids grouping a large number of images.
Fragmentary images of people, animals and natural objects, both abstract and symbolically charged, allow a multiplicity of readings of the works through the combination of their structural and colourful composition and carefully chosen materials and framing. Sinje Dillenkofer questions the relationship between man and nature and the way he deals with life and death. Her work challenges our consciousness and contributes to the hope that the human will prevail.
Born in 1959 in Neustadt (Germany), Sinje Dillenkofer graduated from the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart in 1988. Her work is included and exhibited in numerous museum collectionsin Germany and England.
